Since John Barnes’ sacking last week there have been many names thrown into the hat for the role currently occupied by care taker manager Les Parry. More than I can ever remember following previous sackings. It’s highly critical the right man is installed by Peter Johnson following the calamity that was Barnes’ reign, and the sooner we can get someone with experience in the sooner our campaign for survival will truly start.
Victor Chandler have opened a book for the next Tranmere manager and you can see the list below. In my opinion they’re missing out some big names who are likely to be mentioned in Jim Harvey and Mike Newell, both of course have Tranmere history. Another manager rumoured to have applied is Mixu Paatelainen, but after his most recent failings in the SPL he surely can’t be a safe option which is what we most certainly need. So here’s the odds anyway, please let us know who your favorite would be and why.

I’m not too familiar with half their CV’s but Coppell and Jewell stick out from the list to me. Both have done excellent jobs with very little to work with. Whether they are realistic options is another matter. I’d say my next favourite would be Cotterill, I think we could do a lot worse than getting him
I’d say the key requirements would be a manager that is used to working with what he has, good at getting the best out of what he has and doesn’t whinge about the lack of funds available at every opportunity he gets
