It’s never nice when someone loses their job, but find me one (mentally sound) Tranmere fan not relieved this morning and I’ll be shocked. Sorry John and Jase, but it hasn’t worked out. You should have gone after Charlton following two heavy defeats. The writing was on the wall then, and the dressing room and fans were lost from that moment on.
In 15 years of support I’ve never been less inspired by such insipid and clueless management, with the terrible team performances and lack of effort more concerning then the results. The sacking of Ronnie Moore has looked more and more ridiculous the further into the season we have gone.
There’s nothing personal towards John- he just isn’t cut out for management at this level. I wish him luck in the future, but fear he may struggle to get a job in football again after the nosedive his CV has taken this season.
A meeting between two fan representatives and the big man took place yesterday, and it would seem he has taken their concerns on board with his action today- so fair play to Chris and Dave over at thecowsheds.co.uk.
The question is, has PJ acted quickly enough to save our season? Many people believe the squad is better than performances and results have suggested. Now is the time to find out. Despite the terrible balance of the squad (7 strikers for 2 position, 6 defenders for 4 positions) I hold out hope that if we bring the right man, someone with experience at lower league football, we can stay in this division and build from there.
For now though, let’s get behind the legend that is Les Parry and his able assistant Shaun Garnett, Tranmere men through and through, on monday.
The great escape is on.

I think we all knew deep down that the Barnes/McAteer partnership was a recipe for disaster but I was all for giving them a chance. Now its time for all of us to move on and unfortunately the appointment has set us back 3 months. Fairplay to Johnson for swallowing his pride though, before it was too late. I actually thought he could have gone sooner but relieved he’s gone now.
I’m actually looking forward to going to the game again. It should be a cracking atmosphere on Monday as Les ‘Disco pants’ Parry is a fans favourite.
PJ’s next appointment as manager is massive and he needs to get it right for the sake of TRFC.
I will not have to have the usual apple sours and Sambuca’s to get me through the game tonight thank god. I don’t think my liver could take another game with JB at the helm!
